BlogHer Recap: Rhymes and Polaroids

Posted by: cassie | Comments (1)

A BlogHer recap is required I am told. I am running on so little sleep that I am feeling quite old.

Luckily my son who I love and adore has let me read Dr. Seuss while he continues to say more.

So this post is inspired by the Seuss man you see. Taking the style he started but writing like me.

So the rhymes are quite bad I will tell you in advance. But I might resemble the Cat in the Hat at first glance.

Conferences are first and foremost about friends.

The old and the new relationships you tend.

So let me introduce you to a few old friends I saw.

These are only a few not all.

The few that I captured on this new camera of mine.

Thanks to a lady who gives gifts that are fine.

I have this amazing friend you see. She throwing rockin parties and invites little old girls like me.

Next meet my friend alli who is filled with southern charm but has your back if someone does you harm.

Or my girl danielle whos looks I covet and is filled with personality that makes me say I love it!

Or vera vera who dresses so fine with hair so pretty I wish it were mine.

How about Kathy Cash my colleague and friend who makes you wish the night wouldn’t end.

And my love for Megan of Velveteen mind a friend like this few can find.

Or Ester my girl who runs she posts to her success I will toast.

But as we know weekends all have to end and there is nowhere I would rather me than home with my little friend.

I will end this painful rhyme right here.

But there will be a second BlogHer recap coming quite near.

Childhood Lessons

Posted by: cassie | Comments (2)

It amazes me sometimes how the child that you were affects the adult that you become.

As child I never wanted to miss a beat.

…..And if you know me as an adult you will see that nothing has changed…..

As a child I refused to sleep. I would sit in a room completely miserable because I was so very tired but holding my eyes open in order to make sure that I don’t miss anything.

I see here now at twenty three years old considering putting toothpicks in my eyes so that I can do a few more things before the day is over. You know, like hang out on Twitter, read some blogs, eat some icecream, and listen to the city. I am so tired that my entire body is ready to shut down as I type this post out.

And I think in the past twenty years….have I learned anything?

I am still very much a four year old girl wandering around the city. Wondering if I am doing the right thing and going the right way. Feeling slightly nervous about my surroundings. Feeling much like a child in an adults body. Like I am playing house…or life.

I wish I had some brilliant insight to end this post. Some life changing message that this entire post surrounded. But you know what? My mind is shut off. Because, I am. that. tired.
