The Office Edition

By

I have actually had people ask me about my office before. People seem to be really intrigued when you mention that you work at home. Because apparently working at home is super glamorous. heh.

Yesterday, I got the grand tour of Anna’s office and felt the need to share mine. Mind you nothing about my office is pretty, or neat, or glamourous. In fact, if you are an interior designer please walk away now.

Where the magic happens:

My office is located in the corner of the living room. Apartment complex living means very little space. Which is why you will see below that my desk is actually 1/3 of my large corner desk. When we moved to this apartment the large desk wouldn’t fit. It would not even begin to fit so I took a little piece of it and carefully smash all of my important work on top of it.

1. In the Boorn household we have no problem with our cords showing. Or sitting below our feet in an uber tangled mess. Also….I should probably vacuum.

2. My super organized filing system. I have all of the folders carefully filed below the pile of random books and papers.

3. My television set that is located directly to my right.

4. I have a window directly to my left that gives me the illusion to being outside in the summer. And frostbite in the winter.

Now moving on to what is actually on my desk.

1. This is my main computer. I wish I could say that I adore it but in reality ….I don’t. As you can see I am doing really important work like reading blogs….

2. This is my laptop which is always being used at the same time as the PC. I adore this little guy. To death do us part. You can see I am doing really important stuff in this picture too. Like chatting with a friend and Facebooking.

3. My coffee cup from my morning coffee. (this picture is being taken at 5:00 at night)

4. I bought these little boxes to organize my stuff and make my office look a little prettier. In reality I have a tendency to just throw lots of little thing sin there.

5. My super high-tech office phone

6. My mouse pad is eco-friendly. It is made of recycle-able paper so you are able to write important notes and take them with you….or doodle.

My co-workers office.

He is only here first thing in the morning and then later in the evening but he is so messy. You will often finding him cutting paper into little tiny pieces and making beautiful things out of playdoh. Again…we should really vacuum.

1. His latest creation in which he filled this box with playdoh and smashed random findings into the playdoh.

2. Handmade artwork…that he will never let me have.

3. I told you he was messy!

Other places that I work:

You will often find me with my MacBook in hand hanging in the library or cafeteria in between classes. I spend a good amount of time in local coffee shops Panera.

What else am I missing? Anything than you want to know?

This post is a part of Laurens one time meme of how bloggers work. (or how people who work at home work) If you take part please let me know I would love to see where you work!

He is a pretty fancy guy :)

I know I am so fancy. two computers and 1/3 of a desk ;)

  3. ABDPBT says:

I love this, especially that your coworker has a desk nearby. I should have included my little sidetable where Mini will do his “projects” sometimes when I’m in there with him. So cute. I’m starting to think I need two screens, too — there’s something very appealing about that.

BTW, I do have cords everywhere, but they’re hidden behind the bookcase so you can’t see them in my pictures. Drives me NUTS.

  4. cassie says:

The two screens really encourages my ability to get distracted. That is the downside. And I TOTALLY forgot to take a picture of my office chair. that is really a dining room table chair.

    Fancy Schmancy,

Not just “chatting with a friend”
    chatting with THIS friend!

  7. Laurin says:

I love how my kids set up “offices” near my desk. They are very serious about it all.

I like your co-worker’s set up!
