You are in the moment, you are appreciating your life now, not just for the potential of the future.  Keep that.  Keep the ability to cherish the moment, it is a great lesson for your son (who is adorable.)
I know my experience, and my experience has taught me that the simple joyful moments in each day are what this life is all about.
