I am so happy.

By

Tonight I covered my son up with a pink blanket. I remember buying it in highschool to decorate my room. I am sure I never imagined that one day that blanket would cover my pregnant belly. I am sure I never imagined I would one day use it to cover my child.

I had this life in my head all planned out and ready to be lived. I was going to be rich and beautiful and married. Where would I work? It didn’t matter. Who would I marry? Irrelevant. I wanted to be glamourous and famous. I wanted people to know who I was and know that I mattered.

I am so much more content with my life now  than I was in those dreams. I am so happy I get to cover my child with my blanket. I am so happy to remember that time and know this time. I am so happy I have watched my life transform. I am so happy to have felt the transformation.

I am so happy.

I am so happy you are happy. And it’s true, we dream of those other lives, being rich and famous, but being full of those other things can leave us empty of what matters most. :)
